Love the tool so far, been coming to grips with it and so far I like what I see a lot.
What I do really need, though, is a way to change the offset of an entire cutscene. I have a narrative system which can fire the same cutscene from a bunch of different possible places, so what I need to do is move the entire “set” (cameras, actors, any specifically used props) to the trigger area instead of where it’s being recorded at by default.
Is there any way to do this? I didn’t find anything in the docs, and I tried moving the ‘cutscene’ gameobject manually but that had zero effect.
If there’s not — welp, that’s definitely a feature request, since I can’t move forward with Slate without those offsets (yeah, unfortunately, it really is that important to me).
Hello,
This is currently unfortunately not possible right now but, it’s a feature I am looking forward to implement ASAP. It’s actually already in my TODO list at the very top, even though it’s quite a hard one to get right considering all things that can be animated within a cutscene.
When it does, this will probably work the way you already though it would be, by moving the cutscene to the desired location for the cutscene to be played at.
Wow, thanks for your answer — that’s really excellent news! I did expect it to be fairly tough, but if you’re already prioritizing it that’s great to hear.
Best of luck with your work, and thanks for what’s already a great tool.
@finch Thanks a lot 🙂 I hope to get it in as soon as possible.
@magicpotate Well kind of. finch means the ability of a cutscene to be offseted as a whole and be played at different origin. Similar to an XRef in studio max and similar software.
