I got a huge refresh lag when the slate editor is visible. . .

Hello and good day, a few days ago I use this tool to make a simply video demo, and when i hit play, all the editor runs with some kind of lag, apparently, the visualization of the slate editor at the same time the game was running, make the playing more “slow” and can’t see it smoothly.

my scene have more than 50 objects (using the occlusion culling and lod to make it more lightly), a terrain with a lot of trees and some particles on it, and for the record, when I want to “record” the video, the frame rate drops till 6-8.

unfortunately, I can’t send you the files (it’s not my project), so, it could be difficult to recreate it, but if you could tell me why this happens, it will be great, and by the way, I don’t think it’s a good idea to refresh the preview in the time slide, or even have one if you actually see it (game view), I know that you want it to make it feel like Adobe Premier, but having just the first frame from the camera shot will be enough, thanks for your attention and your time.

P.S.: I really don’t know if you are actually working on some “improvements” on NC and FC, but, as you can see (if not, check the asset store), there’s another tools trying to do the same as yours and even a little more (code generation), cheers and once again have a good day.

Hmm. Does the slowdown only happens in play mode and while the Slate editor is open and runs smooth again if you close the Slate editor?
Can you please try to disable the “Show Shot Thumbnails” from the Preferences gear panel on the top-right of the Slate editor just so we pinpoint whether or not the camera thumbnail previews are the problem?
Right bellow the “Show Shot Thumbnails” by the way, there is a “Thumbnail Refresh” slider option. The lower the number the more frequently the shot thumbnails will refresh, and as such a very low number like 2 for example, can also be the cause of this problem in case you have a lot of camera shots in the cutscene.

Please let me know if the thumbnails were indeed the problem.

( PS: Improvements and new updates will come for all assets after summer, yes! Only in summers things are going a bit slower. I know of the assets you are talking about, but I don’t see them do more than NC + FC do, at least right now :). Competition is always a good thing though ).
