i trying to overlap two cameras with slate.
i have one animated camera and one i´d like to lay over it and the results are strange.

im using “depth only” and only one object visible to the camera on top.
the lower layer is normal slate shot animated.

first problem is that cutscene turns off my topcamera since its not a shot camera.
i start the sequence and turn on the top camera, but the second issue is that bottw layer then jitters.

    any tips are very appreciated.

edit 1: the second camera stays on if i put in the director group. and the jitter is gone for some reason.

there is a second problem that happens often: the objects that i parent to a path or a camera change orientation when i press play.
as if they have a keyframe that snaps them to that position.

another update- i found that the background layer, when using deferred rendering is jittery. when using forward, it works fine.
the front/top camera, cockpit in this case, is shaking and i cannot pinpoint the reason.

i have very large space scene with huge difference in object size. i read some threads where people reported similar problems with large/distant objects. not sure but the also shaking seems to increase with speed. if needed i can provide a clip.

    Hello,

Regarding the 1st issue where the non shot camera is disabled, this is only done if the camera is tagged as “MainCamera”, otherwise it will not be disabled. So you can simply change it’s tag and it will stay enabled.

Regarding the jittering issues, I tried overlapping two animated cameras similar to what I understood from your posts, but things were looking fine. Can you please provide a small project showcasing these problems you are facing since it is a bit difficult for me to understand the exact setup you have as well as the results you are getting?

    Thanks a lot in advance.

    thank you gavalakis,

i will send you over some files. since im new to unity, lot of these issues may be of my own making.

    cheers
