Made With Slate: Three New VR Short Film Productions

I’m happy to announce that Breaking Fourth have just released a slew of new of VR animated shorts for Rift and Gear VR, each of which would not have been possible without the Slate Cutscene Sequencer and the ongoing support from Gavalakis and the community.

Utopia 6

Utopia 6 takes place 200 years from now in a world ravaged by environmental disasters and war. But 1% of the population lives in select cities spread across the world. And for those lucky few million, Utopia 6 awaits… This new drama follows a virtual presentation of the city to the patrons of the Utopia Life Corporation. You are taken through the city while the CEO presents alongside her assistant Bea, a top graduate of the Refugee Apprenticeship scheme. However, it becomes clear that the devastating emotional effects of The Crisis have taken an irreversible toll on Bea.

Bro Bots

In the not-so-distant future, robots are everywhere. They talk like us. They walk like us. And they have really big personalities. Two British robots – Otis and Roberto – arrive in New York and join the NYPD. In Bro Bots Go Underground, Otis and Roberto are called to investigate a bomb threat in a subway station. When they discover an unconscious woman on a train, things start to spiral out of control. Over the intercom, an ex candy-seller frustrated at losing his job to a charismatic vending machine, threatens to kill them both. Is this going to be the Bro Bots’ last mission?

Wow! These look really awesome and just in time my Rift arrived to watch Bro Bots! I wish I also had a Gear VR for Utopia 6 and Opinions. Are you going to release these two for the Rift as well?

It is really inspiring to see quality work done with Slate and further motivates me to continue improving the tool at the best of my abilities, thus I really thank you for sharing your work with us, as well as for your positive feedback!
