[Meta] Forums appears to support pasting images, but they don't

I noticed this on another post. I can paste images into the editor when making a post here, and it shows the image inside of the post. But as soon as I actually submit the post, the post won’t have those images in it. It’s necessary to manually upload image files. I’m not sure if it’s a bug that’s allowing images to be pasted in, or a bug that’s preventing pasted images from actually working in the published post, but it makes for some confusing posts.

Hmm. Thanks for letting me know.

I always use the “image uploaded” bellow the post text (Attachments) to add images. I haven’t really ever tried copy/pasting to be honest 🙂

That definitely works fine, and I’ll just keep doing that from now on. It’s mostly muscle memory from other forums where copy/paste works correctly.
