So I have the post process layer and volume set up correctly in the render camera to have control over depth of field ….but Im goin nutz trying to get the dynamic shot controller to control DOF (focal range and focal point) it is the beta version but I figure Ive missed a step somewhere…….. Can someone plzzzz tell me how to get DOF goin?
Make sure your post processing preset(its a scriptable object somewhere in your asset folder) has depth of field enabled- make sure you ticked “use post processing stack”(or something like that) in the Slate preferences- then just adjust the focal range on the active camera and it should work-
Also make sure you added the post processing scripts to Slate’s render camera- that’s an easy step to miss-
The Dynamic Shot Controller, does not automate the DOF settings in the Camera Shot clip by the way, so these can be animated individually of what the Dynamic Shot Controller is doing (mainly position and rotation automation).
Thanks for the reply Gavalkis youre doing an amazing job with Slate …its sure to become a standard!
…I havent been able to really dig into it (since last night at 230am lol) cause I cant seem to reopen the first project… Slate doesnt show up under “tools” and I cant seem to find the option to “edit in Slate” the cutscene (in the hierarchy?) when highlighted in the inspector – which seems was an option in older versions of unity

– It seems I have the right post processing scripts in order – see attach- and I did ping “use post processing stack” in the Slate preferences…

So if you cant control DOF in the Dynamic Shot Controller in Slate ;; event though it seems that focal range and focal point would basically be the DOF settings – where, within Slate, would you have the ability to control DOF [outside of the DSC] for cameras used/set up by Slate
Are you using Post Processing Stack version 2 by any chance (it seems so)? Slate right now only supports Post Processing Stack version 1.
Using Post Processing Stack version 1, you simply need to add the “PostProcessingBehaviour” component on the “Render Camera” and attach to that PostProcessingBehaviour” a “PostProcessingProfile” within which profile you have “Depth Of Field” enabled.
I have also replied to your other post, please let me know there regarding that one.
Thank you!
