I constantly use the slider to scrub thru my cinematic, however I never want it to create keyframes on my actor property tracks. How can I disable this auto keyframe option ?

It looks like you used to have an option in the settings called auto keyframe = 0 to turn it off. That is not there currently.

    Hello,

The option is still there, but it was just renamed to “Auto First Key”, which by default, it’s also set to false. 🙂

Mine is off (by default) but it still drops key frames and goes into rec mode when i drag that slider. I drag that slider continuously, scrubbing back and forth. I never want it to do anything else, besides scrubbing.

    Hey,

Yes. Right now whenever scrubbing, the cutscene is entering rec mode, but new keyframes are not created unless a property is animated and of course it’s value is changed. The “Auto First Key” option is doing a totally different thing, in that it automatically creates 1 keyframe if there is none (but that is something you dont want).

If what you are after here is an option to disable rec mode while scrubbing, this is something I can add in the next version.
If though, keyframes are automatically created without changing the property values, then that is probably a bug, in which case I’d like to know when that happens please.

Let me know which is the case 🙂
    Thanks.

    Exactly!

What I dislike about the rec mode is it stops you from editing values in Slate until after you hit Stop, which rewinds the scrub bar back to the beginning. so you have to tweak your values and drag it back to where your working. If you could give me the option ot disable rec mode that would be great. Thanks

    Hey,

I am not sure I understood your explanation 🙂

It does not stop you from modifying parameters. It’s just that when you do -and considering that these parameters are animated-, a keyframe will be created. With the rec mode turned off (when it comes), new keyframes will not be created, but of course as soon as you move the time, the parameter will revert to it’s keyframed value.

In any case though, the ability to turn off rec mode is added in the roadmap 🙂

    Cheers!
